Megan NasonThis is Megan Nason's 2nd year as Cambridgeport School's Social Worker. Megan's office is located in room 202A on the 4th floor. Don't forget to read the sign on her door to make sure she is available before coming in. Megan takes the lead for many things at Cambridgeport School. She works closely with teachers and school leaders to ensure students receive the social-emotional learning they need. Megan is serious about creating a professional learning environment that ensures that teachers have what they need to implement our Empower Initiative successfully. Megan works individually with students to enhance their ability to build relationships with their peers. She will be working with the Adjustment Counselor to enhance social groups this school year as well. Megan has partnered with other teachers to bring the Girls on The Run Program to our school. The students love how Megan keeps them empowered and cares so deeply about making Cambridgeport great! Our Social Emotional Leadership Team, Child Study Team, and 504 Planning Team are grateful for Megan's expertise.

"In my role as the C-port School Social Worker, I support the social and emotional development of our students by collaborating with teachers, spending time in classrooms, leading groups, and meeting with individual students. I also facilitate C-Port’s Social Emotional Equity Leadership Team and The Child Study Team. I am the Case Manager for 504 Plans. In the spring, I am one of the coaches of our On the Run Team. Before coming to C-port last year, I spent 17 years in the Boston Public Schools as a kindergarten teacher, early childhood coach, and inclusion specialist before returning to school for my 3rd Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about addressing the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students, and I believe the foundation of this work is a strong, collaborative school community and partnerships with families. I look forward to an empowering year ahead for our community!"
