Cambridgeport School Council

MeetingsThe school council is a group of family, community, and staff members at the Cambridgeport School that comes together monthly to advise the principal on issues that are important to the success of all children at Cambridgeport. Anyone can serve on the School Council, and all meetings are open to the whole community. School Council members can come to as few or as many meetings as they are able.

The focus of our School Council this year will be on how educators and families at Cambridgeport can work together to address issues of racial equity across the school.

Our meetings this year will be a combination of early morning meetings and evening meetings in order to give a wider range of people access to these meetings. According to the family survey conducted at the end of the last school year, the greatest barrier to engagement (by far) was that people feel that they are just too busy. Of course, everyone is busy at different times. Our hope with offering both daytime and evening meetings is that we may bring in a wider array of voices.

Last year we started conducting surveys in advance of each meeting in order to bring in still more voices and perspectives. We will continue this process this year.

Please let the Principal know if you would like to be put on the school council mailing list for additional reminders and updates about these meetings.
