Grace MontiThis week, we are Spotlighting Grace Monti. This is Graci's 1st year at Cambridgeport School. Grace is in one of two of our Building substitute positions. Grace works closely with our entire teaching staff to support instruction. When Grace is not covering a class, Grace is supporting and learning from all of the staff! Grace comes in with a smile daily and makes the best of working with a wide range of classrooms with many different routines and expectations. Having some common langue like "Peace and Quiet, Power Clap & Voice Levels" is a great start in helping Grace connect effectively with students. Grace is a proud member of our school team and also enjoys working in Community Schools Afterschool Program to extend student learning.

"Hi! My name is Grace Monti, also known as Ms. Grace, and I am a Cambridgeport Building Substitute. I grew up on the south shore of MA and just recently received my Bachelor's from the University of Vermont in Art Education and Special Education (K-12). Before moving to Boston, I was an Art Director for kids ages 5-12 yrs old in Boulder, Colorado, a K-8 Long-term Art Substitute Teacher in Vermont, and a 1st/2nd grade after-school teacher for four years! Outside of school, I love to read, travel, and cook, in addition to any activity ‘in-season’ outside.

This is my first year as a Building Substitute at C’Port. In this position, I am responsible for supporting students’ learning when their teachers are absent, implementing the curriculum provided, curating it to classrooms as needed, and providing feedback to teachers to be able to pick up where I left off. I can’t wait for lots of memories at Cambridgeport this school year!"
