The
two first grades just finished case studies on their classroom pets.
They used a combination of observation and research to prove that their
pets met the seven criteria of living things. After swapping class pets
at the beginning of the morning, the two classes came together and
presented their evidence to each other in groups of four. By all
accounts it was a success as students and teachers alike made their
first foray into sharing scientific thinking with an audience.
