Justin's kindergarden class at the Cambridgeport has been learning about drawing from observation in art.
First,
we practiced in class making still-life drawings using basic shapes and
then identifying those shapes in masterpieces. Next, we took this idea
into the Squirrel Brand garden to draw the plants we saw using shapes!
The
student's used their class sketchbooks then I enlarged their drawings
on the copier. Lastly, we used watercolor paints to bring our drawings
to life. The students did a fantastic job! Hopefully we'll have a chance
to go back to the garden in the spring and see how the plants have
changed and how we have grown as artists.
