Author Melissa Stewart visited the Cambridgeport in March. She presented
to children in grades K-3 and grade 5. Through her presentation we
learned that a lot of research goes into writing and that books can take
many years of writing and revision before they can be published.
Melissa’s book, “
No Monkeys, No Chocolate” took 10 years to
complete– longer than some of our students have been alive! Students
watched a Reader’s Theater performance, sang songs, and some even were
able to present cards they created for Melissa Stewart.
