Trish is a physical therapist in the Cambridge Public School Department since 2007 servicing children in Special Start and students in regular education classrooms. Trish is part of the the preschool evaluation team that evaluates the children's need for school based PT services when children transition from Early Intervention. Trish graduated with her Masters in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 2003 and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at MGH Institute for Heath Professionals in 2006. Physical Therapists help children to develop the strength, balance, coordination and motor planning skills needed to safely maneuver through the school environment and participate in school based movement activities – including recess, gym and classroom movement activities. The focus is on scaffolding large motor / gross motor skills, and the foundations of strength, balance; coordination and motor planning needed to accomplish those skills.
